Product & Software Review Policy

All products, services, and software require a testing and vetting period prior to agreeing to conduct a product review and recommendation. I highly value and prioritize my integrity and I will not review or recommend a product that I would not use and do not believe in.

Product Reviews

Reviews and recommendations of tangible products obviously require testing and vetting of the physical product beforehand. If your company has conditions for product handling, such as a time-limited testing period or having a company rep present, I am more than happy to oblige.

I am open to discussing video concepts and ideas for testing your product. If I have a concept or idea for a video, I will propose it and we can discuss it. Likewise, if you have an idea for testing your product, propose it and we will discuss it. I truly love to collaborate to showcase your product’s best features.

Software Reviews

Reviews and recommendations of downloadable or online software require a regular, fully functioning account or license — not a dev server — with access to the highest, non-enterprise tier of service for at least one year. Where a one-time, perpetual license is available to the public, the same shall be granted prior to agreeing to a review.

There is little risk on your end because if I don’t like the software or find it useful, I’m not going to use it, recommend it, or make a video about it. As mentioned above, I will not recommend products, services, or software that I would not use myself. If I do like it, I’ll be happy to proceed and engage in a contract with you, providing my honest opinion.

Product Seeding

We accept samples and gifts with no guarantee of use or review.

We are in the early stages of receiving sample products and gifts, so you currently have a higher likelihood of your product being tested and reviewed. To guarantee a review or mention of your product, please see the Content Rates listed above.

To increase your chances of a collaboration, you should offer some benefit to the Studio Builder audience, such as a discount, and/or a benefit to Studio Builder in the form of an affiliate commission with tracking and reporting.

What’s the Difference?

 

Dedicated Videos

A dedicated video is about your product, service, or website, highlighting its features and how it solves a problem the Studio Builder audience might have.

A dedicated video about an action camera would feature that camera being used in all the ways it was designed and also include the creator’s creative use of the camera.

Integrated Videos

An integrated video is about the problem the Studio Builder audience might have, in which your product, service, or website is presented as a solution to that problem.

An integrated video might be about how the creator has unique ideas for filming that they have been unable to realize until the release of this particular action camera.

Sponsored Content

Sponsored content is when the product featured is unrelated to the editorial content of the video.

Sponsored videos contain a dedicated segment advertising your product, its features and benefits, but the content may be unrelated to any of the specific features or benefits your product provides. As noted above, dedicated and integrated videos are related to the specific problem the product solves.

A video sponsored by a website platform might feature travel content, such as the creator photographing street portraits in a foreign country.

Payments can be made via EFT through ACH (US only), Wire (US only), and SWIFT (global). Rates are listed in USD but EFT payment can be accepted in AUD, CAD, Euro, GBP, and USD, and possibly more upon request. Deposit of 50% is required to initiate production.
