How to Properly Structure a Web Page for Better SEO
Information Hierarchy
Search engines have historically considered the information at the top of a web page to have more importance than the information at the top of a page. That might not be as true anymore, but it still hold true for people.
When people load a web page looking for information, they don’t want to scroll and scroll and scroll to find it. Make the information they are searching for to be easy to find. Put the most relevant information at the top of the page.
Page Title
Every page needs a title. Every page needs one, and only one, H1 header. This is your page’s title. Use your primary keyword phrase for the page as that page’s title. For example, the title of this page is “Search Engine Optimization for Photography Websites” and that is the only H1 header on this whole page.

Subheadings
When breaking up content on your website into sections, use H2-H6 subheadings. For H2 subheadings focus on using and including high-value keyword phrases to help improve your SEO. Don’t just insert a keyword phrase where it doesn’t make sense. Use appropriate keyword phrases for each section of the page.
I also recommend adding sections to your pages that you didn’t previously have but for which a high-value keyword phrase exists. Then create high-value content for each new section. Remember,

Text
Google cares more about the quality of content than the quantity of content. Make sure your content is succinct and has a lot value for the reader. Don’t create robotic copy.
Images
Make sure every image on every page is named (filename) using keywords relevant to that specific page. For example, if you photograph families, make sure the first image at the top of the page is named:
family-photography.jpg
Then give subsequent images on that same page a unique and descriptive name along these lines:
family-portraits.jpg family-portrait-photography.jpg family-photos.jpg family-photography-in-Hamilton.jpg family-portraits-Hamilton.jpg documentary-family-photography.jpg documentary-family-photography-Hamilton.jpg etc...
